The week of May 27th was quite eventful. We continued with our morning training sessions and workshops as well as going out into the city, and on campus to share!

| Quebec staff panel! Great insights into what it is like to be a missionary here full time. |
The coffee house open mic was a
big success! Why? Well, it may not have been a huge event, and we only had about 3 people come that were not on the project itself, but those people had a lovely time. Great conversations were had. The project came to an exciting close in Montreal and we got to celebrate with one another on the last night. The program ranged from stand up comedy (SO funny) to classical piano, some musical solos and of course, interpretive dance to Miley Cyrus' The Climb. I got to do a duet with my lovely intern buddy Nadine to Katy Perry's Who Am I Living For which has surprisingly deep and spiritual lyrics.
Among the people that did come was a guy named
Robert. He was living in our apartment building and had come out to many of the different events during the month. He is uh...interesting. He is not a Christian, is from Montreal and is not currently in school. He actually owns his own business and has a pretty regular 7-day-a-week club schedule for his evenings. Despite this though, he came to many of our events and seemed to gravitate towards the group. The most shocking thing that I later learned about him was that he so badly wanted to hang out with us that he even went with the French team to go sharing on the French campuses!
HUH? CRAZY. Robert is a clear example of someone who is chasing all the wrong things and who is coming up feeling empty. He so desperately wants to be loved and accepted that he seeks that nightly in clubs and with all the things that the world has to offer. It was cool to me though, how we could so dramatically have an impact on him just by being friendly, truely caring about him and inviting him to be a part of the community we have.
Take away point? The Lord uses community to draw people close to Him and to demonstrate the acceptance and love that He is extending to them.

On friday we packed up and headed to R&R at Frontier Lodge Camp. It was really fun and although I was slightly sick for part of it, the team enjoyed swimming, camp fires under the stars, random games like silent football (refer to David for the explanation/rules on that one!), capture the flag with stones, and of course, warding off millions of mosquitos. On Sunday we worshiped with a church that came to the camp who was having a church picnic/baptism ceremony there. It was great to be a part of the corporate worship and to celebrate with people we hardly knew who were declaring their faith publicly in baptism! Following that we went to hike around a gorge and really just enjoy nature. I'd say that the best part of the weekend was that- enjoying nature. Having quiet times on the dock, singing worship under the stars and having fellowship with other project members on a hike- So great!
